» Qíngláng (情郎) is a term that means “lover”, but the word itself is used almost exclusively for secret love/affairs.

» Yuānyāng (鸳鸯) are mandarin ducks, a species of ducks that is often believed to be life-long spouses. It’s used as a metaphor for love in modern day; in the old days (like, Ancient China-days), yuānyāng is used as a metaphor for sworn brothers, as in loyalty.
